History
chronology:- 1972 The company, which began working from a garage in Detmold, Germany, develops into a into a production company.Hans Joachim Fichtner and Rudolph Schicht react to the increasing demand in the field of electroformed electrodes by building their first factory in Germaniastraße 4, Schlangen.
- 1975 The business continues to grow constantly, and by now has 5 employees working on the production of electroformed electrodes and simple injection moulds.
- 1985 An extension to the building has become an absolute necessity. The electroplating and tool making departments are extended in building stages 2 and 3. The number of employees has risen to 10.
- The product spectrum is extended to include a RIM-mould and a lamination facility.
- 1990 Higher demands on quality, and the extension of the production capacity require investments in modern systems for the galvanic and tool making departments.
- 1993 The first, and in Germany the only, production facility for erosion shields is built up. During this time, the first slush moulds are manufactured. The core business of manufacturing moulds for steering-wheels reaches its peak. Resin moulds become obsolete, and all manufacturers change over to electroform (nickel-plating). The advantages that this tool concept offers have remained unbeatable until the present day.
With 15 employees, the foundations are laid for a faster expansion.
- 1998 Rudolf Schicht retired in 1998. Kurt Stricker took over the reins and his 50 % share of the business.
- 1999 Introduction of quality management and certification according to DIN ISO 9001.
- 2001 Building extensions for the electroplating shop and for logistics/warehousing operations. Faro Arm widens the scope of measurement possibilities.
- 2002 Capacity expansion in the area of slush technology. A five axis milling machine extends tool manufacturing capability.
- 2003 Updating of our certification to DIN ISO 9001:2000. Laser welding unit expands the range of services.
- Selective capacity development in the area of laminating devices for the aeronautical industry.
- 2004 Building extension, 1.200 m² in a new production shop. Introduction of new methods in the area of surface.
- 2005 Completion of the new production shop and spatial extension in the area of surface.
Mr. Hans-Joachim Fichtner leaves Fichtner & Schicht, Mr. Kurt Stricker becomes sole owner.
- 2006 Fichtner & Schicht bought a new milling machine. New capacity was built in the area of erosion strip production.
