Erosion protection shields are a protection for rotor blades and propellers against pollutions in the air.

Erosion protection shields will be produced in a nickel or nickel cobalt bath by electroforming way. This kind of production makes possible nearly each geometry with different wall thickness.

While the unprotected rotor blade is damaged after about 350 flight hours a protected rotor blade has a life time of app. 3000 – 3500 flight hours. Our target is to give good protection for all situations. ( sand, rain snow hall stones ) In these situations we can give best protection with our system.

Erosion protection shields will be fixed on the leading edges of the rotor blade by gluing and give so a high protection against each kind of pollution in the air. The erosive effect to the rotor blade goes now compete to the erosion protection. If the erosion protection shield is damaged it can be separated from the rotor blade and replaced by a new one. So the rotor blade has a very long lifetime.
