Custom Solutions

We are one of the few medium-sized companies that have a high level of vertical integration and master many unrelated or different technologies.

In line with our vision, “With a pioneering spirit, we combine technologies and materials in a sustainable way for limitless mobility in the future”, we go ahead and convert our goals into results. After successfully completing the first projects for filling systems and measuring devices, we were able to use our know-how and convince other customers in the market.

The harmony of experienced project managers, precise toolmaking, a modern metalworking shop, versatile model making and well-trained electronics engineers are real added value for our customers. Our "Custom Solutions" area is growing every year. In close consultation with our customers, we implement sophisticated special solutions. The latest example is a state-of-the-art measuring device for rotating components. All departments work hand in hand. From the design to the finished test bench, all complex components from our house.

Our special solutions are not only highly valued in the automotive and aviation industries, the food industry and even household appliance manufacturers also work with our products.

Creative approaches and solution-oriented cooperation are the key to success.

Automotive

As experts in the field of tool production for slush skins, we have continuously expanded our range of services in depth - according to our motto: "Everything from a single source!".

A real highlight of this vertical diversification was the inclusion of our company in the list of approved model builders for the Volkswagen Group: Based on the reference project Audi Q5 e-tron China, in which we used the complete model technology for both the prototype and the series production containing construction, 5-axis milling and manual finishing through to optical measurement in-house, we were included in the supplier portfolio.

Our customers benefit from our know-how along the entire production chain and can rely on smooth project execution:

  • Design support against the background of technical feasibility
  • Complete model technology
  • Creation of slush & spray tools
  • Design and production of multicolor masks
  • Realization of slush equipment made of steel, stainless steel or aluminium
  • Production of testing and assembly devices

Aviation

At Fichtner & Schicht, we attach great importance to ensuring that our aviation customers receive the right support right from the start. When it comes to manufacturing erosion control caps, nuances matter. To ensure that the rotor blades are one hundred percent true to size and therefore aerodynamically good, many things have to be taken into account in advance. Closely coordinated technical specifications and well-timed project management are absolutely necessary in this respect. We were able to implement such a project with our long-standing customer Kopter, which now belongs to Leonardo Helicopters. After Kopter contacted us by phone to inquire about erosion protection for their SH09 helicopter tail rotor, we traveled to Switzerland on the next flight. On site, we carried out initial ideas and brainstormed to determine how a tail rotor (fenestron) could be equipped with erosion protection. Factors such as aerodynamics, weight and geometry play an important role here. Back in Schlangen we were able to construct a first anti-erosion cap using the CAD data of the tail rotor provided by Kopter. In doing so, we incorporated our many years of experience. In close exchange, we picked up the customer directly and discussed technical options for protecting the rotor even more efficiently. The customer's request and the final product were always the top priority. In a detailed specification, we defined all the technical specifications with the customer. From the "First Artical Inspection - (FAI)" production to the treatment of the inner surfaces with primer, all parameters and production steps are precisely recorded.

After our CAD data had been approved by the customer, we started designing and manufacturing the models (stamps) required for the electrolytic manufacture of nickel/cobalt profiles.

Before we switch to mass production with the customer, we produce "FAI caps" as defined in the specifications. This production is subject to special supervision. All production parameters are precisely recorded and documented. The quality control of the finished profiles is also measured and documented separately with an FAI measurement protocol. After Kopter has received, checked and approved the FAI caps, we can start series production.

The company Fichtner und Schicht always aims to advise its customers in the best possible way. We stand for quality and high production. When a technically flawless product is created in cooperation with our customers, this fills us with great pride.
